Happy Birthday to us!

This year, RawTech turns 10. To some, it doesn't seem so long ago, but when you factor in the decade of disruption and change in the tech landscape, we think it must be dog years.

In 2009, we were still using 3G. The hottest smartphone was the Apple iPhone 3GS, Nokia released the N8 to not much fanfare and Google launched the Nexus 1 with Android under the hood. Windows phone went to an early grave and iPad launched as an encore to the iPhone.

A lot of technology died out during the decade. MP3 players started their slow decline, messenger apps like AOL, MSN and Yahoo! were the pinup apps of the 00's and now were on the way out and even Google Plus came and went with a whimper.

In the business world (our world), cloud computing was starting its meteoric rise, Microsoft poured themselves into the Office 365 development, as did Google, biometric authentication found huge momentum, hybrid servers started hosting storage and applications, flash storage came to enterprise, employers and schools started allowing BYO devices to networks and BIG DATA not only because a buzzword, but an entire industry.

With more networks, more access points, more cloud, more devices, more software, more data and more dark forces trying to disrupt, attack and penetrate networks, risk has increased dramatically for businesses of all shapes and sizes.

More data has been generated over the last 2 years, than in all of recorded history. Truly staggering. The digitization of everything is in itself a risk. Data is the prize for hackers and the dark forces and RawTech is constantly evolving in and around these real risks.
